Blend of hard work and smart work always pays

Be open to learning and be ready to burn the midnight oil. Rome wasn't built in a day!

Did the MBA help in my corporate life?

Definitely, yes. During the MBA programme, I developed critical analysis, managerial argumentation, decision-making, persuasion and project management skills which I have found valuable in my professional career.

Key learnings from my MBA

The core MBA curriculum builds management competencies, which are essential to a successful business career. MBA students are expected to create and execute project works which help in creation of abilities to conduct high-level analysis of critical business issues.

What I would have liked to see as part of my MBA course?

I would have liked more emphasis on industry interface and inclusion of studies on cross-cultural business environment synergies.

The chief ingredients in my success

We are a start-up and it would be too early to call ourselves ‘successful’. However, we have always believed in doing things with unrivalled speed and impeccable precision. A perfect blend of hard work and smart work always pays.

My best and worst moments

The worst was in 2009, when I passed out at the peak of a recession and no company was ready to hire me. The best is yet to come.

My advice to young MBAs joining the corporate sector

Be open to learning and be ready to burn the midnight oil. Rome wasn't built in a day!

Am I happy with the way the MBA is structured / taught today?

The quality of MBA grads is degrading at a very fast pace. The institutes need to focus on the overall development of students.

My advice to young MBAs is to read:

1) A lot of Harvard Business Review articles

2) Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish

3) Biographies of Richard Branson, Steve Jobs

4) Rich Dad, Poor Dad

5) Seven Habits of Highly Effective People
