Bimlesh Lochab elected as Royal Society of Chemistry Fellow

Bimlesh Lochab, a professor with the department of chemistry, Shiv Nadar University, Delhi-NCR, has been elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), UK, which identifies individuals in the field of chemical sciences for their significant contributions.

Lochab’s research work focuses on green chemistry. An Oxford alumnus, she has expertise in both synthetic and materials chemistry. She is well-known for her research on synthesis, functionalisation, and conjunction of both — nano and polymeric materials using the tenets of green chemistry. Her study on the use of Sulfur as an alternative to the existing lithium-ion battery has received global recognition.

“Being invited as a Fellow by the Royal Society of Chemistry is a great honour. I am excited to work with the world’s brightest minds in the field of chemical sciences to meaningfully support the mission of the Royal Society of Chemistry,” said Lochab. The distinction as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry is extended to only 50 scientists in the world each year.
