Cyient, Shibodhi Foundations to fund IIT Hyd’s school of entrepreneurship

Cyient Foundation and Shibodhi Foundation have joined hands to support IIT Hyderabad in setting up the BVR Mohan Reddy School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (BVR SCIENT). The two entities will contribute ₹20 crore for constructing a building and meeting recurring expenses for five years.

“This building will house faculty offices, innovators space, conference and seminar rooms, computational lab, behavioural lab, and a PhD working space,” an IIT Hyderabad spokesperson said.

Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister of Education and Minister of Skills Development and Entrepreneurship, laid the foundation stone for the construction of the building on July 2. BVR SCIENT aims at nurturing and developing world-class innovation and entrepreneurial talent from the country.

The curriculum will include a specially designed curriculum in entrepreneurship, design thinking, creativity management and leadership. The school will offer a wide range of courses, including bachelor’s, master’s, executive education, PhD programmes and certification courses.

“Entrepreneurship is the perfect engine for job creation as it would boost innovation and allow India to become Atma Nirbhar Bharat. The proposed BVR SCIENT is a unique school for encouraging and skilling entrepreneurs to address some of the complex business problems and societal challenges,” BVR Mohan Reddy, Founder-Chairman and Board member of Cyient, and Chairman, Board of Governors, IIT Hyderabad and IIT Roorkee, said.
