Sri Chaitanya Group of Educational Institutions has announced ₹1,000-crore scholarships for students in classes 1 to 12. The SCORE STEM Challenge 2022 targets students looking for school admissions, foundation courses, and preparing for all-India competitive examinations such as JEE Main, JEE Advanced or NEET.
“The scholarships are open for all students that are seeking admission to online or offline courses. We are planning to make it an annual event,” said Sushma Boppana, Academic Director, Sri Chaitanya Educational Institution.
The group, which has about 750 schools and colleges, is planning to expand beyond the 17 States it is operating now. “We are planning to add another 250 schools and colleges in the next 2-3 years, to take the total to 1,000 institutions. We will invest about ₹400-450 crore to expand our footprint,” she said.
The winners could win up to 100 per cent scholarship (to cover fee) and cash prizes. They can also win trips to NASA campus in the US, smart watches, and laptops. The results will be announced on December 15, 2022.
“Some students may excel in their classes and schools. But their true mettle will be tested when they face a bigger pool of students and schools. It all depends on the kind of academic inputs that a student gets in a school. Our idea is to give them better inputs and train them for bigger challenges,” she said.
“The main objective of SCORE is to find and provide meritorious students with quality education. Top rankers in the exam will receive global standard mentorship from highly qualified faculty. They will get good coaching for national level examinations for engineering and medical courses,” she said.
The SCORE STEM Challenge 2022 will be conducted from August 26 to November 30. Offline tests will be conducted on September 18, October 16 and November 13 in different centres. The last day for registration is three days before the exam date. Students can take the test from anywhere in the country by signing into Infinity Learn website or visiting Sri Chaitanya campuses.
