In what can only be called a freak accident, over 300 reindeers were killed after being struck by lightning in the Hardangervidda region of Norway. The area was battered by a thunderstorm last week, which is reportedly the cause of death.
Though it’s not uncommon for animals to be electrocuted, the scale of the deaths has shocked everyone. This is the second time this month animals have died in large numbers — 38 sheep died after they were hit by lightning in Kanchipuram earlier. For details, read this article in Telegraph .
