Every year, around this time, online dictionaries choose the Word of the Year. While Dictionary.com named 'complicit' as the word of the year, Merriam-Webster chose 'feminism', which, it says, has seen an increase in the number of times it is looked up.
Peter Sokolowski, the company's editor-at-large, said searches for the term 'feminism' on the dictionary's site increased 70 per cent in 2017 compared to the previous year. Check-out this Mashable article for further details.
