Start-ups, investors and other affiliates will connect at PuneConnect the annual flagship event organized in the city by SEAP (formerly software exporters association of Pune) on November 28.

The theme for this year is ‘Innovation in the Digital World’ and Amit Phadnis, President-Engineering and India Site Leader, CISCO will deliver the key note address.

“The Vision behind PuneConnect is to support the start-ups to create a revolution in digital world, and also establish Pune as one of India’s top three hubs for technology enabled innovation,” S Ramprasad, President, SEAP said.

This is the fifth year that the event, that is a platform for the thriving and vibrant start-up ecosystem in the country, is being held. Since its inception in 2011, over 200 start-ups have used it to showcase their products and to meet potential customers, investors, partners, mentors and other affiliates.

This year, the event attracted more than 180 applicants across areas ranging from mobility, analytics, IOT, education, social networks and e-commerce, of which 25 have been short listed. Around seven of these have also been chosen to make a pitch at a venture capital round table with potential investors.

The investors who are attending the event include India Angel Network, Mumbai Angel Network, Ankur Capital and SMEJoinUp's Venture Garage.

In the past, PuneConnect’s first winner Sapience raised ₹45 crore, while the 2014 winner Ecozen solutions raised ₹6.2 crore.
