Ten start-ups from across the country will participate in a two-week accelerator programme in Moscow later this month.
The start-up exchange programme titled ‘India Russia Bridge for Innovation’ (IRBI), is supported by the Department of Science and Technology and Global Venture Alliance. IIT-B’s Society for Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Mumbai is coordinating the programme.
The programme aims to further bilateral partnership between India and Russia in the sphere of innovation.
Supposedly the first initiative of its kind between India and Russia, the programme will focus on science and technology-based entrepreneurship, say people in the know of the development.
The programme will include educational, practical, networking and cultural components — all of which aim to facilitate a structured introduction into the Russian market.
The selected start-ups are in the area of medical devices and applications, energy, Internet of Things, Edtech and Retail tech.
The participants feel that programmes such as the IRBI will go a long way in sparking strong bilateral economic ties in innovation and entrepreneurship between the two nations.
