Edtech firms offer free courses amid Covid-19 lockdown

Imarticus Learning offers online certification courses in technology, data analytics and finance

With some of India’s largest corporations, a swathe of start-ups and multinationals asking employees to work from home considering the rising number of Covid-19 cases in the country, more ad more people want to make optimal use of their time at home. Observing this trend, National Skill Development Corporation-approved education platform Imarticus Learning will launch a series of certification courses across technology, data analytics and finance. These online courses will be free of cost.n

The platform has comprehensive training capsules in an array of courses like finance, data analytics and data science. The first batch goes live from March 30, 2020, and the course subscription is on till the lockdown situation normalises.

Nikhil Barshikar, Co-founder, Imarticus Learning, said: “Upskilling is not an option, it is a necessity, and what better time than this. With the Covid-19 outbreak, professionals are working from home and are investing quite a bit of their time in upgrading their existing skills. We have therefore launched a series of free online courses that aim to enhance individuals’ skills and proficiency with the most engaging learning environment.”

With new disruptive technologies replacing old archaic systems, people realise the significance of online learning and quite a significant number of people are opting for online courses. Scholastic India is also offering free e-learning resources, and here is a list of virtual learning tools that children can refer to while studying at home:

1. Scholastic Learn at Home: Get free grade-wise learning resources and activities for the next 20 days. These are day-to-day projects to keep children engaged for for three hours a day.

2. Scholastic Classroom Magazine: A hub to help children learn about the coronavirus. Grade-wise collection of articles to help ease their fear and educate them with age-appropriate information.

3. BookFlix: An online literacy resource to inculcate the habit of reading among students from Grade KG to Grade 2. Parents can access BookFlix for free and help their children become early readers.
