Kick your micromanaging habit for good

As a leader, stop checking in all the time, and trust your team’s experts

Micromanaging is a hard habit to break. How can you resist your micromanaging tendencies and — more importantly — how do you ditch your micromanaging reputation for good? First, set regular check-ins to discuss the status of projects so you aren’t asking your team members for updates all of the time. Also remind yourself that you hired certain people because of their expertise. Trust them to carry out the task. And finally, delegate more than you may be comfortable with.
