Oscar-winning ‘Parasite’ will now be a graphic novel

‘The dialogue, stage, and camera directions will be translated into English from Korean’

In all my years of watching movies, I have always known that action movies need intricate story-boarding because that helps the entire cast and crew of the film to craft the movie more smoothly. Everyone knows their marks, their camera-angles, the set design, everything. What I didn’t know is that by using the same technique for Parasite , Bong Joon-ho created the perfect thriller which doubled as a relevant social drama.

Now, according to Indiewire , on the one-year anniversary of Parasite’ s Cannes world premiere, Grand Central Publishing has announced that it will be releasing Bong Joon-ho’s storyboards as a graphic novel! It is already doing the rounds in South Korea and now it will available in the US as well. Grand Central Publishing has stated that, “The dialogue, stage, and camera directions will be translated into English from Korean. The book will include a foreword written by Director Bong about the making of the film and his creative process.” Read more here.
