IIM-A's Case Cantre jointly conducts seminar with Harvard Business Publishing

In a bid to promote case method of teaching in the management education, the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A)'s Case Centre, with Harvard Business Publishing (HBP), organised the fifth Case Method Teaching Seminar (CMTS) at Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM), Bengaluru from July 7 to 8.

The first four editions were conducted at Ahmedabad (twice), Hyderabad and Mumbai. IIM-A Case Centre and HBP jointly conduct the CMTS in India twice a year.

The latest seminar included VG Narayanan from Harvard Business School and Sanjay Verma and Sunil Sharma from IIM-Ahmedabad. More than 50 academicians from prominent business schools across India, Oman and Nepal participated in the seminar.

"IIM-A is committed to the inductive, discussion-based learning model ingrained in the case method. Beginning with our collaboration with HBP more than five decades ago, the institute has refined the case method approach. We are delighted to have an ongoing programme of collaboration with HBP to disseminate and strengthen case method teaching in Indian management schools," said Ashish Nanda, Director, IIM-A.

Anand Kumar Jaiswal, Chairperson, IIM-A Case Centre, said, "IIM-A Case Centre has been developing and distributing management cases globally with a focus on emerging economy such as India. CMTS is part of IIM-A’s efforts to strengthen the case ecosystem in India by promoting case-based pedagogy among faculty members from management institutes across Asia."
