IIM-A, NSE set up Centre for Behavioural Science

To conduct experiments on how behavioural science impacts processes and outcomes in markets

In a first for India’s management institutions, the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM-A) set up a Centre for Behavioural Science in Finance, Economics and Marketing, with support from the stock exchange major, National Stock Exchange (NSE).

Inaugurated by Dr Arvind Subramanian, Economist and former Chief Economic Adviser to Government of India, the centre will be used to conduct experiments on how different aspects of behavioural science impacts processes and outcomes in markets.

It aims to undertake knowledge creation in a range of topics related to business issues in financial markets and financial services that would be insightful to help decision making for policymakers, individual retail investors, fund managers, traders, analysts, and wealth advisors.

Insightful knowledge

Seen as a first of its kind in a management institution in India, it would build high-quality research, analytics, and insightful knowledge on a range of topics related to business issues in the Indian financial markets and financial services across different stakeholders.

Errol D’Souza, Director, IIM-A, and Ravi Varanasi, Chief Business Development Officer of NSE were present during the inauguration.
