A team of three students —Siddharth Singh, Rachana Kamath and Praveen Sasidharan — from the Executive Post Graduate Programme in Management (EPGP) at IIM Bangalore, won the first prize at OpStruct, the flagship event of IIM Ahmedabad’s ‘The Red Brick Summit’. It was organised by Optima, the Operations Club of IIM-A.
OpStruct is an operations strategy case competition. The competition was held in three rounds, where over 980 teams participated in the first round. On qualifying, 97 teams proceeded to the second round, which comprised a case-based Q&A between the jury and teams. The top seven finalists made it to the third round. The final round entailed an on-campus case presentation.
The participants were required to select and present on a growing start-up and focus on operational issues it will face when expanded. The teams had to come up with the best recommendations, keeping financial and other risks in mind.
The case presentation by the IIM-B team was rated the best.
