IIM Nagpur concludes summer placement for PGPM students

The highest stipend offered was ₹1.6 lakh

The students of the Post Graduate Programme in Management (class of 2016-18) at Indian Institute of Management Nagpur (IIM-N) were jubilant when their batch got 100 per cent summer placement. This year, more than 40 recruiters across all sectors found IIM-N students suitable for summer internship positions.

IIM-N has seen a significant increase in the number of first-time recruiters. The prominent recruiters’ list includes: Yes Bank, BPCL, ICICI Lombard, Choice India, Calderys, Delivering Change Foundation (Sakal Group), IDBI Federal, Excellon, Diffusion Engineers, WCL and Persistent. Among these, ICICI Lombard and IDBI Federal made the highest number of offers.

Many of the students chose sales and marketing as their preferred domain and others chose sectors such as strategy, consulting, finance, business analytics, IT consulting, operations, and IoT. Most of the students will do their internships in metro cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, as well as Nagpur.

Aniket Hinge, placement coordinator, said, “The PGP batch of 2016-18 has performed excellently — both academically and professionally. Their summer internship placements speak for this. IIM Nagpur’s presence is being felt in the corporate fraternity resulting in more number of new firms absorbing the talent pool at the institute.”

Vijay Phate, in-charge of Placement Office, said, “This year, both the highest and the average stipend offered saw a significant jump. The highest stipend offered was ₹1.6 lakh, and the average stipend of the batch increased by 24 per cent to ₹56,900.”
