IIM-Ahmedabad wraps up Insight ’15

Last day has something for everyone, with talks on marketing and legal affairs

IIM-Ahmedabad’s three-day long marketing conclave Insight’15 wrapped up in style with speaker sessions and workshops, that initiated insightful discussions, and events that kept the audiences thoroughly entertained.

The last day of Insight ’15 saw an array of events for everyone. On offer were business events showcasing the best of marketing. Cinemark , the movie marketing event and Rajneeti , a political marketing event, got students thinking of innovative ways to market in non-conventional marketing fields. A “Marketing for Entrepreneurs” session by CMO Factory talked about starting conversations on social media and how firms use four level of differentiators, buzz marketing and cause marketing. This was followed by a panel discussion on “Law and order in Social media” with a panel consisting of Ranjan Dwivedi, Director General, UP Police and an IIMA alumnus and Prithvi Raj Pandey, the Assistant Director General of Police (Law and Order), Gujarat Police. They talked about the importance of moderating social media, while maintaining freedom of expression for all. “While instant messaging applications like Whatsapp help disseminate information within seconds, the downside is the spread of false information which results in riots between societies,” he said. He gave an example of how news from Central America was passed off as an incident in Hyderabad. The speaker series ended with a talk by Saurabh Kochhar, CEO, Foodpanda India, who spoke about the $300 billion food industry in India and the potential it offered to entrepreneurs. He also spoke about delivering different values for customers of different age groups according to how they perceive the product. He ended the session with the quote, “Put customers first to achieve success.” Comedian Sorabh Pant also tickled everyone’s funny bones with his Pant on Fire segment.
