IIT-Delhi’s DMS completes largest recruitment

As many as 56 recruiters took part, and the average CTC was ₹16.54 lakh per annum

Department of Management Studies, IIT Delhi, completed final placements for its 2016-18 batch. The average CTC was ₹16.54 lakh an annum, with 56 recruiters taking part, making it the largest recruitment till date. A total of 102 offers was made to 91 students.

Even with a 100 per cent increase in the batch size, the season proved to be one of the best for over a decade. Companies across sectors with offers from multiple domains participated in the placements.

It saw an increase in the leadership roles offered to the students. As much as 25 per cent of the batch was given pre-placement offers / pre-placement interview opportunities. The number of first time recruits has increase to 29.

Numerous companies such as Deloitte, Amazon, Shell, Google, GE, Accenture Strategy, Rockwell Automation, KPMG, E&Y, andCrisil participated.

The variety of firms from different sectors brought in a huge range of profiles for the candidates. Finance domain witnessed profiles ranging from Project Finance and FMP to Financial Risk Specialist. Sales & Marketing profiles spanned across pre-sales consultant, marketing leadership and Associate Director Sales, among others. Operations domain also saw profiles such as strategic sourcing, digital operations, and program manager. Sales and marketing accounted for 30 per cent of the offers; 29 per cent profiles were offered in the IT & consulting domain, 20 per cent in operations and 21 per cent in finance and general management. Of the total offers made, 27 per cent were leadership roles.

Professor MP Gupta, Head of the Department of Management Studies, said, “Successful completion of the placement season is the outcome of the meticulously crafted curriculum, the grooming of the students by business leaders, industry-oriented teaching and alumni support.”
