MICA inks MoU with Rawls College of Business

MICA’s Fellow Programme in Management students can transfer their credits to the US-based B-school

To create global learning opportunities for students of the Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) at MICA, Ahmedabad, the institute has entered into an agreement with the Jerry S Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University for a credit transfer programme (CTP).

The MoU was signed between Dr Margaret Williams, Dean of Rawls College, and Dr Preeti Shroff, Dean of MICA, on February 27. The collaboration will allow MICA FPM students to transfer their credits to TTU and the qualified MICA students for both the programmes will have to write MICA-FPM thesis and Texas Tech-Ph.D thesis as part of graduation requirements.

Dr Shailendra Raj Mehta, President and Director, MICA, said: “This agreement lays the foundation to build a close relationship between MICA and the Jerry S Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University and opens the way for our FPM students to continue their doctoral studies there and work towards a Texas Tech Ph.D. This will also facilitate faculty collaboration.”

Professors at MICA and would be working closely with Dr Margaret, Prof Mayukh Dass and Prof Atul Parvatiyar of Texas Tech University.

Global learning opportunity

Dr Preeti said: “MICA has taken the FPM programme global with the exciting partnership with Rawls Business College, Texas Tech USA. The Ph.D programme will focus on management, marketing, sales forecasting, customer relationship excellence, digital platforms, data analytics and quantitative-qualitative research. The qualified MICAns will also have the opportunity for Texas Tech graduate assistantships, tuition waiver, industry immersion and US work placements. This global learning opportunity will enhance MICA’s mission of nurturing world class researchers, empathetic leaders for creative management and problem-solving.”

Dr Margaret said: “We are pleased to establish an understanding that fosters collaboration among MICA and Texas Tech. This partnership with one of the top schools in India expands opportunities for students and helps us attract top talent for our Ph.D programme.”
