SPJIMR launches podcast series

In the first episode, Nestle Managing Director Suresh Narayanan dissects the Maggi crisis and offers tips

Bharatiya VidyaBhavan’s S P Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR) has launched a new podcast series called ‘ThoughtCast’ which will feature an expert SPJIMR faculty in conversation with a senior industry leader on management and business. This podcast is a means to reach audience who would like to hear challenging new ideas, management wisdom, and practice-oriented leadership lessons.

The first episode of the series, launched today, has SPJIMR Executive-In-Residence, noted author and corporate advisor, R Gopalakrishnan in conversation with Nestle India Limited’s Chairman and Managing Director, Suresh Narayanan. In this conversation, Gopalakrishnan and Narayanan talk about their decades-old association, share learnings from the Maggi crisis — an existential crisis for Nestle in India, on succession planning, and offers tips for future managers. SPJIMR Dean Dr Ranjan Banerjee said, "We need to understand and engage in practice if we are to influence it. Taking forward the SPJIMR motto of thought leadership, the series will showcase the 'influencing practice' principle of the institute. Other industry head honchos to feature in the coming episodes are Mr Amit Jain, MD Loreal and MrSanjeev Mehta, Chairman and MD, HUL.
