TAPMI e-inducts new batch of students

555-strong batch with an average of 87 percentile in CAT/XAT has students from diverse backgrounds

The Manipal-based TA Pai Management Institute (TAPMI) commenced the academic year for the batch of 2020-22 on August 12, 13 and 14. The institute welcomed the 38th batch of PGDM (Post Graduate Diploma in Management), seventh batch of PGDM — Banking and Financial Services (BKFS), third batch of PGDM — Human Resources (HRM), and the second batch of PGDM — Marketing.

A press release said on Friday that the batch comprises of 394 students in the core PGDM programme, 60 in the BKFS programme, 45 in the HRM programme and 56 in the Marketing programme. About one out of 16 applicants made it to the core PGDM programme this year, 18 in case of the BKFS programme, and 22 in case of the HRM and the Marketing programmes.

Welcoming the new batch, Madhu Veeraraghavan, Director, TAPMI, outlined the way of life and learning experience at TAPMI. He also discussed how seamlessly TAPMI is transitioning to the new ways of learning.

Kedar Joshi, Admissions Chair of TAPMI, presented the batch profile to the inductees. The 555-strong batch with an average CAT/XAT score at 87 percentile has students from diverse educational backgrounds, the release said. Around 35 per cent of the students are non-engineers. The batch has representation from 24 states and has 31 per cent of female students.

Online sessions are scheduled to commence from August 17, via Webex platforms. Classrooms equipped with 14 interactive digital panels, e-books on kindle platforms and unlimited cloud space are enabling TAPMI seamlessly to transition to new ways of teaching and learning, the release said.
