MAHE organises Manipal Entrepreneurship Summit

Students of MAHE participating in the ‘Innovation Mela’ being held as part of Manipal Entrepreneurship Summit.

Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) concluded the Manipal Entrepreneurship Summit (MES) 2022 recently. Case study analysis of start-ups/companies, debate on various topics related to economics, interactive sessions with entrepreneurs, webinar on Metaverse, a panel discussion on entrepreneurship, and an ‘Innovation Mela’ were conducted from March 17 to April 2 as part of MES 2022.

The finale featured narration of stories by entrepreneurs and pitches by students and start-ups. More than 60 innovators/start-ups participated in the ‘Innovation Mela’, which was part of the finale programmes.

A statement said that seven alumni entrepreneurs from various institutes of MAHE participated in the finale panel discussion and deliberated on the government support for start-ups and incubators, the importance of innovation and entrepreneurship in higher education institutions, and the need to jump into an entrepreneurial journey in view of matured Indian ecosystem.

Nurturing innovation

The entrepreneurs were from pharmaceutical, hospitality, agritech industries, consulting and investment firms, and social enterprise.

Lt Gen MD Venkatesh, Vice-Chancellor of MAHE, said entrepreneurship has always been encouraged at MAHE. Students can see the example of the founder TMA Pai to understand the power of entrepreneurial capability.

Human development around the campuses at Manipal, Sikkim, and Jaipur shows the Manipal model of entrepreneurship. “I urge our alumni and future entrepreneurs to come forward and make the best use of the MAHE ecosystem towards their entrepreneurial journey,” he said.

Cdr Anil Rana, Director of MIT, said: “We are extremely glad that MES 2022 received such enthusiastic participation from entrepreneurs and start-ups alike. We hope to continue building the spirit of entrepreneurship amongst our students and faculty with future editions of the summit.”
