New Joint Director for Manipal Institute of Tech

Bhat, who was previously Associate Director (Development), took the mantle from BHV Pai

Somashekara Bhat, Professor at the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering of Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), has assumed charge as the Joint Director of MIT. Bhat, who has been serving the institution as Associate Director (Development), took the mantle from BHV Pai, who has completed his nearly six years of tenure as the Joint Director of MIT.

 

 

 

Somashekara Bhat, who hails from Santoor village in Udupi district, did his BTech in Electronics and Communication Engineering from NMAMIT at Nitte in Udupi district, MTech in Industrial Electronics from erstwhile KREC (now NITK) at Surathkal in Mangaluru, and PhD from IIT-Madras.

A press statement said Bhat started his journey as an academician at NMAMIT at Nitte in 1990. He joined MIT, Manipal, in 1995 as lecturer and since then he is serving the institute in various academic and administrative capacities. He has more than 25 journal publications and 40 conference publications in his credit, it added.
