NITK students get highest pay package of ₹45.03 lakh

Students from National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK), Mangaluru, got a maximum pay package of ₹45.03 lakh per annum in the ongoing placement season for 2021-22. The average package for BTech is ₹13.12 lakh per annum during the current placement season.

According to NITK, 1,341 students from BTech and postgraduate courses across the departments are placed in various public and private sectors till date. This year, 402 companies (including internships) visited the campus. Some of the companies include Microsoft, DE Shaw, Uber, Arcesium, Amazon, Oracle, and Google India.

‘Good placements’

Some students were also placed in public sector undertakings such as IOCL, BPCL, GAIL, BEL, and BEML. Stating that placements were really good this year, S Shrihari, Chairman of Career Development Centre of NITK, said: “We are getting more enquires from start-ups and well established companies this year also.”

CDC trains students in skill development, resume building, and conducts workshops to compete in the respective arenas. He said NITK is putting more efforts on the international placements and PG/PhD placements.

Udaykumar R Yaragatti, Director, NITK, said the top packages offered by companies are the international ones. Top domestic and international companies such as Microsoft, Samsung, Google, Qualcomm, Goldman Sachs, Flipkart, Intel, HSBC Holdings, IBM, Walmart, Bajaj Automobiles, Accenture, JP Morgan, Cisco, Deloitte, Caterpillar, Amazon, Adobe, TATA, Morgan Stanley, Accenture, and ONGC, visited NITK campus to recruit engineering graduates for various job roles.

Commending the students for living up to the expectations of the recruiters, especially during the pandemic period over the last two years, he said the institute has carved a niche for itself and is poised to scale even greater heights in the near future.

The conducive academic and research environment of the NITK has ensured the behavioural development of inquisitiveness, innovativeness, and entrepreneurship among students, he added.
