Samsung ties up with IIT Delhi, launches an innovation competition

The consumer electronics and smartphone brand Samsung has launched an innovation competition for students between the ages of 16 and 22 — ‘Solve for Tomorrow.’ The initiative aims to incentivise students to solve real-world problems in the areas of education, environment, healthcare and agriculture, in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals set for India.  

The top 10 teams will get the opportunity to visit Samsung India offices, its R&D centres and Samsung Opera House, Bengaluru where they will interact with Samsung employees and researchers.  

Other support includes mentoring of the top 50 teams (of up to three) by industry experts and the Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer (FITT) at IIT Delhi, a bootcamp at IIT Delhi, a certificate of participation, and vouchers worth ₹1 lakh for online courses in design thinking, STEM, innovation, leadership, among others.

The annual programme will end with the grand announcement of three national winners who stand a chance to win up to ₹1 crore and mentoring support for six months to take their ideas to the next level under the expert guidance of IIT Delhi.
