Renault took the covers off its small car Kwid at an impressive global launch show in Chennai on Wednesday.
Priced between Rs 3 lakh and Rs 4 lakh, the car will be produced at the Chennai plant.
The Kwid has 98 per cent localisation.
The car is the first to roll out on the Renault Nissan alliance new platform and will be the first of many more. Renault will also plan more cars for the A segment which is 25 per cent of the Indian car market.
India will emerge as 4th largest car market in the world after US, China, Japan, said Carlos Ghosn, Chairman and CEO, Renault, speaking at the launch event.
