How are engineering colleges doing?

A look at the supply side of engineering admissions and the perceptions

The 2015 IET-Feedback Consulting study on Engineering Admissions and Perceptions in India (carried out by the Institute of Engineering and Technology) seeks to present new facts about engineering admissions backed by data.

This research study surveys the the supply side, which mainly constitutes the engineering colleges and the students enrolling in these colleges and looks to serve as a reliable source to predict patterns with respect to "engineering resources graduating from colleges". Equipped with this data, industry will then be able to gauge if its demand would match the supply of students graduating.

In the same vein, a study on the demand side of engineering admissions, which is the industry end, will be released in 2016. This study aims to reveal the expectations across industry players, thus allowing the supply side to decide which skills are sought after by companies and the kind of courses to focus on, so that students are industry-ready. The Graphic describes the areas and streams that are popular among various colleges, which sectors take part in the placement process and other perceptions on global accreditation and parental pressure.
