French start-up launches MOOC based bachelor degree

The programme will be offered in three streams — engineering, design and digital marketing

A French start-up, OpenClassrooms, will be soon offering an exclusive Massive Open Online Course (MOOC)-based bachelor degree programme, that is state recognised, Tech Crunch reported. The start-up has partnered with IESA multimedia to create the program.

The MOOC-based degree programme will be offered in three streams — engineering, design and digital marketing, the report said. Students will go through the same set of courses that exist at IESA. The private institute is already working on 40 different MOOC for this programme, the website said.

Video chat

The program will comprise a video-chat with a mentor, so that participants stay motivated during the program. The participants will have to pay €300 a month to access the graduate degree programme, which will allow students to work and study at the same time.
