How organizations hire people has undergone a massive change. No longer is it enough that firms put our ads in the media and a phalanx of people respond to it with written applications. Recruiters these days scout the internet and online channels for skilled talent and understand more about prospective candidates before they sound them out for a job. An article on staffing major Randstad’s site says that job seekers too are no longer content with job advertisements on prospective employers’ websites, but look into companies’ social profiles to understand more about the organisation’s business, job culture, pay scales, and work environment.

So, corporates too, the article says, need to be cautious about the recruitment process. Some dos and don’ts the article lists out are: brand identity is critical to acquire quality talent; a seamless connect between brand image and brand propaganda is necessary – what an organization says about itself in the public space, should match its actions internally.
