According to an article published in the New York Times, acquiring illegal drugs in China is as easy as ordering, say, clothes via an e-commerce website.
The article talks about how the drugs are sold online and skirt laws prohibiting the sale of certain drugs by changing the molecular formula slightly or selling drugs that are yet to be declared illegal.
In fact, there was a report of a death by the use of an illegal substance in the US – the drug isn’t illegal in China.
It isn’t just China not cooperating with international authorities to shut this cartel of sorts down, it is also a matter of how the creators of such websites selling drugs (yes, like Amazon. But only for illegal substances) are finding loopholes in the law created to ban the lethal substances. This has become such a widely accepted fact that Mexican cartels are now buying drugs from China.
