Is spam-free mailing experience possible?

Google is trying its best to make Gmail 100 per cent spam free

Google claims that it filters around 99.9 per cent of spam. And you’d think they would be satisfied by that. But that is not to be. For if the latest blog post by the search engine company is anything to go by, then Google will become totally spam free!

According to Mashable, the company announced that a number of improvements will be added to gmail. What kinds? You know, like applying machine learning technology, such as artificial neural networks to make filters smarter and new tools for businesses to ensure relevant mail always makes it into inboxes.

What are they?

Artificial Neural Networks are essentially computers that copy the brain neurons, enabling the computer to ‘learn’. Mashable says, “Google uses these to identify images, making tasks like reverse image search possible. These neural networks are also used to create those trippy images you may have seen online lately.”

Phishing defense

This will be better used to filter out phishing scams, that makes people unwittingly give out their credentials.

Google is also launching Gmail Postmaster Tools, that will help users send messages that can be read as spam. While Gmail Postmaster Tools was launched on Thursday, usage of Artificial Neural Networks began earlier this year.
