Link display on Twitter resembles that of Facebook

New feature helps advertisers have more space to make better pitch in call-to-action buttons on Promoted Tweets

Twitter has revamped the way links accompanying tweets look and it looks a lot like the format used on Facebook.

Instead of displaying URLs while sharing a link, now Android and iOS app users will notice that not only is the physical link not displayed, but there’s a short summary of the article, along with the headline displayed along with the tweet.

According to an article on TechCrunch, not only does this make things easier for the end users, it also helps advertisers who now have more space to make a better pitch in their call-to-action buttons on Promoted Tweets.

Not only do the info-cards look better, but they also have more information displayed on them. The TechCrunch article goes on to talk about how this comes on the heels of a recent study which suggests that most users in America get their news online, not unlike in India, despite the vibrant print industry in the country.
