Now, 12-month paternal leave for Virgin management employees

If you take care of your employees, they will take care of your business, says Richard Branson

Now, all expecting parents would wish they were part of the Virgin Group, for the founder of the group, Richard Branson, announced recently that the company would provide 12-month paternal leave to employees who’ve worked for over four years. This leave policy was adopted by Virgin Management, the investment and brand licensing arm of Branson’s empire.

Mashable said in its report that the management would provide employees with four years of experience, up to 100% of their salary over a 52-week period of shared parental leave. Those with fewer than two years of experience will receive 25% of their salary. The policy applies to both men and women, as well as to who adopt.

Richard Branson delighted

“I know how magical the first year of a child’s life is, but also how much hard work it takes,” Branson said. “I’m delighted that we can offer this support to our staff so that they can enjoy parental leave to the full as we continue our work in changing business for good.”

While there are around 50,000 people working for the group around the world, this policy will affect 140 people in London and Geneva, the article maintained.

“If you take care of your employees,” he said, “They will take care of your business.”
