New sodas to contain sugar cane instead of high fructose corn syrup

In a bold move, Pepsi plans to bring 'craft' sodas to soda fountains in the US. The new product line - Stubborn Soda will thrive on the popularity of craft beer and different niche foods. as a result, soda fountains now will be soon introducing flavours such as pineapple cream, hibiscus, and lemon berry acai, reported Fool.com.

These new sodas contain sugar cane in place of high fructose corn syrup, it will give them a natural and more authentic flavor, the report said.

The decision is driven changing taste of the customers, who want to drink something more natural. It also also compliments niche fast food chains who want to get rid of preservatives and artificial additives.

Alternative sodas have become increasingly popular in some parts of the US but not a single big brand has been able to break in and establish leadership in the segment, said the Fool.com report.
