The judge also ordered the Finnish 17-year-old to hand over $7,300 property acquired illegally

Imagine committing around 50,000 hacks — and getting caught and getting away with a light sentence. Sounds incredible, doesn’t it? According to Mashable, this happened. A Finnish 17-year-old, who was reportedly linked to the Lizard Sqad Hacker group, has been convicted of over 50,000 “aggravated computer break-ins”.

The sentence

Julius “Zeekill” Kivimaki, who thinks of himself as an “untouchable hacker god” on his Twitter page, will face a light sentence. Judge Wilhelm Normann of the District Court of Espoo gave Kivimaki a suspended sentence of two years in prison. In addition, he also has to turn over the $7,300 property that he acquired via ‘illegal means’ and speak out against Cyber Crime. Reportedly, his online activities will be monitored too.

Earlier hacks

Before this trial began, he the hacker spent one month in jail. In the current hack, Mashable reported, he had “exploited vulnerabilities in Adobe software to gain access to over 50,000 servers”. He stole credit cards, made 21 purchases and took 7 GB data from MIT.
