Why do MNCs prefer Indian CEOs?

Quality education and exceptional management skills seems to be one of the main reasons

Of late, a spate of MNCs have been appointing Indians as their CEOs. But why do they prefer Indian CEOs? An article on staffing company Randstad’s site says that Indians are preferred for a variety of reasons: quality education and exceptional management skills, experience of working in diversified environments, willingness to work in different geographies and good knowledge of emerging markets.

The article also points out, most multinational corporations headquartered in the US, UK and Europe have their global front and back offices operating out of India. Companies such as Pepsi, HP, and IBM conduct their business critical operations from India.

India, one of the most profit-yielding economies

India and China top the list of countries in the Asia-Pacific region that are fast emerging as the most profit-yielding economies in the world. This trend of looking at India for talent doesn’t stop with C-level recruitments. With a highly skilled resource pool graduating out of top Indian universities, MNCs are luring young talent from India to occupy important positions in their firms and eventually, head their global business divisions. There are at least 10 Indians who are heading global corporations.
