Accenture has emerged as the top recruiter at IIM Ahmedabad with 21 offers in consulting domain to the PGP batch of 2015. A distant second was e-commerce giant Amazon, which extended 13 offers. McKinsey & Company, The Boston Consulting Group, and Samsung extended 10 offers each, Bain & Company made 9 offers.
Among banking and financial services firms, Yes Bank made 10 offers. Among global investment banks Goldman Sachs made 5 offers for various roles. In the consumer goods and services sector, Hindustan Unilever and Star TV India were the leading recruiters with 6 offers each. In the general management sector, Bharti Airtel made 9 offers, Aditya Birla Group and Future Group made 8 offers each.
The placement process was conducted in two stages. The first was the laterals process where firms interviewed students with prior work experience and offered them mid-level managerial positions. The second stage was the final placement process where firms were grouped into cohorts based on the profile offered, and groups of cohorts were invited to campus across different clusters.
The third and final cluster of the process was held on 01st March; and a total of 115 firms hired for a batch of 375 students during the entire placement process.
This year 11 students opted out of the placement process to start their own ventures. The start-ups are in various sectors like adventure tourism, data analytics, e-commerce, and food processing. IIM Ahmedabad has offered a placement holiday to these students, wherein they will be allowed to participate in placements in one of the next two years in the event that their venture does not work out.
