AIMA conducts Eastern round of Young Managers Competition

Winning teams to represent Eastern region at national competition on August 8

All India Management Association (AIMA); Calcutta Management Association (CMA), and Globsyn Business School (GBS) jointly organised the Eastern Regional Round of the 'National Competition for Young Managers' at GBS' Amtala campus.

The participants deliberated on the theme ‘Transformational Role of Young Managers in a new-age economy: Towards building Sustainable Organisation’, and were judged on the basis of their leadership skills, knowledge, experience, professional prowess and creativity. The competition involves a business plan created by teams of mid-level managers representing leading corporate houses from across India.

The Eastern regional round saw over 57 participants from 19 corporate houses, including Indian Oil, Hindalco, Bosch, Tata Power, Tinplate Company, Danfoss Industries, Mahle Filter Systems, Rourkela Steel Plant and Gabriel India among others.

The team from Bosch, represented by Sandeep Rao, Khusboo Singhania and Abhinay K. won the competition and the Rourkela Steel Plant team - Lopamudra Mishra, Sudarshan Pathi and Jyotirmay Jena were declared runners-up. The two teams would now represent the Eastern region at the competition nationally on August 8.

"The National Competition for Young Managers is one of the longest running managerial competition in the country," said Neeraj Kapoor, Director of AIMA’s Center of Management Development in a statement.

"It has attracted more than 150+ teams from across the country every year and has given seen some exceptional talent and thoughts pertaining to live and contemporary issues."
