Aspiring managers compete to solve travel industry issues

WeSchool team wins for ideas on CSR and digitisation

The PHD (Punjab, Haryana and Delhi) Chamber of Commerce and Industries recently concluded a competition on the tourism industry for aspiring managers, giving management students an idea of the issues prevailing in the travel sector.

The students had to give a presentation on how to effectively tap the large pool of tourists to destination India, along with an effective action plan to best implement the strategies. The teams were required to make a seven-minute presentation before a jury, followed by a Q&A session.

The event witnessed participation from 20 different management institutes. Rishabh Jyani and Armin Pastakia of Welingkar Institute of Management Development and Research, Mumbai (WeSchool) won the competition.

The team had shared their ideas on air tourism, corporate social responsibility, and digitisation. The ideas exchanged were from all aspects of the economy, from grassroots level development to technologically driven campaigns.
