‘Business Analysis can be used for better business outcomes’

This is important in today’s changing business world, said CEO of IIBA, addressing BIMTECH students

Ken Fulmer, President and CEO of International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) international, addressed around 200 management students today at a function organised in BIMTECH.

Talking about exponential changes taking place in businesses, he said these changes can be “Well integrated with the tools and techniques of Business Analysis for better outcomes.”

IIBA delivers a suit of Business Analysis qualifications across the globe to corporates management and technology students.

With a view to close the managerial skill gap in India, IIBA will be partnering with NASSCOM to create specially designed courses, that will be delivered to students of management and engineering colleges. This would, in turn, create a number of business analyst professionals in three years, who would find ready employment. This would meet the managerial skill shortage to an extent. There is also a proposal to create master trainers with the help of management and technology institutions, who in turn would train more trainers.

Fulmer added that such a professional qualification would not only improve employability but also enable professionals to earn higher emoluments. A recent global salary survey showed that professionals with IIBA qualifications, in general, earned 11 per cent more than those who did not have such qualifications.

In today’s world, strategy based on business analysis is the ideal new plan, Fulmer added.

The IIBA delegation also had as members, Ashish Mehta (CBAP, Managing Director-India and APAC, Global Thought Leader at IIBA) and Alain Arseneault (Director, Corporate and Business Development IIBA). The IIBA team held extensive discussions with the BIMTECH faculty to deepen their industry-academia collaboration in the future.
