CEOs, MDs, VPs connect with their alma mater at GIM’s ‘Imprints 2017’

205 former students attended the event, which was spread across six cities in India

Goa Institute of Management (GIM) recently organised ‘Imprints 2017’ in various cities across India including Mumbai, Bengaluru, Delhi, Pune, Kolkata and Hyderabad. The event was an annual alumni summer meet with an aim to discuss the road-map for GIM and identify key areas where alumni can engage better with the institute.

The 2017 edition of Imprints has strengthened bonds between the alumni, their alma mater and current students. A total of 205 former students attended the event and reminisced the good old days while reconnecting with old batch mates and making new connections with former students from various work environments. Entrepreneurs, CEOs, Managing Directors, and Vice-Presidents of various companies were among those present.

Imprints is hosted by the institute, the process of planning and execution is done by the Alumni Chair, Alumni Executive Committee and the Student Alumni Relations Cell (SARC) wherein the Executive Committee consists of a few selected alumni who serve as a link between the institute and the alumni network. This year, it was organised by the first-year students of the post-graduate programme.

Discussions were held over Skype calls with GIMs Director Ajit Parulekar, which covered different aspects ranging from how to further strengthen the students’ skills in terms of industry expectations to subjects that can be introduced or modified to keep up with companies’ requirements. Apart from this, GIM professors addressed the alumni, there were quizzes, and a section on ‘What’s your story’ was planned, where a few alumni who have embarked on an entrepreneurial journey shared their story with everyone present.
