Debashis Chatterjee is IIM-K Director for a second time

It is the first IIM to autonomously appoint its own director since the IIM Bill was passed

IIM Kozhikode’s Board of Governors brought back Professor Debashis Chatterjee for a second term as Director of IIM Kozhikode. IIM-K had been without a Director ever since Prof. Chatterjee completed his five-year-long tenure from 2009-2014. Prof. Chatterjee was instrumental in making sure that more than 50 per cent of the students in the post graduate programme were women — a trend setter among IIMs, an IIM-K release said.

Prof. Chatterjee has been a senior professor and dean (International Relations) at IIM Lucknow and is currently serving as Director General of IMI Delhi overseeing its three campuses. He has taught leadership classes at Harvard University and at the Indian Institutes of Management (IIM), Calcutta, Lucknow, and Kozhikode. He has also been awarded the Fulbright Fellowship twice for pre-doctoral and post-doctoral work at Harvard University and has authored 17 books including Invincible Arjuna and Timeless Leadership . Prof Chatterjee has also served as the Dean of an international business school in Singapore and has served as an independent director on the boards of several multinational and Indian companies.
