Fun, research, business gets clubbed at MDI

Three events held between November 6 and 8

When the country was busy celebrating slew of festivals during the week gone by, Management Development Institute (MDI) Gurgaon campus was abuzz with excitement of three events including Imperium, Akshayam and Illumina.

The first two, held between November 6 and 8, were a combination of academic and extracurricular activities.

Illumina - the disguised market research event of MDI, which was treated as a grand Diwali Mela, was organised on November 8 and offered corporates valuable insights into consumer psyche based on the students’ innovative models.

Imperium, the annual inter-college management fest ran for 72 hours straight and posed forward not just games, and opportunities to form networks for students but also tested their managerial skills in the form of various competitions.

Akshayam, on the other hand, was an out and out cultural treat with students participating in music, dance, drama, fashion, pottery making, face painting, poster making, treasure hunt, tattoo making, fashion show, dress making and other competitions. The highlight of the series was the stand-up comic act by Abish Mathew, the actor and comedian of the AIB fame, which left everyone in splits.

Special mention is reserved for two major events including 'Green-o-vision' and 'Beyond Karma'. While Green-O-Vision invited students to showcase their business plans on a profitable green initiative, Beyond Karma challenged the participants to tie up with NGOs to work with for a specific time period before the event.
