Future managers take up herbal gardening at IIM Raipur

Students cite late President Kalam as inspiration for the garden

The Eco Club of IIM Raipur has created a herbal garden as a milestone for the sustainable environment. This is part of an initiative to bring the students closer to the plants and to instill the need to protect them.

“We got the inspiration from the late President APJ Abdul Kalam. He initiated the creation of such a garden in Rashtrapati Bhavan,” explained Ravinath Sinha, an Eco Club member.

The herbal garden was created with the aim to educate the students and teachers on the medicinal values of plants around them while paving way for their protection. The herbal plants were collected from various nurseries in Raipur and the nearby villages. The agricultural university has been consulted for support.
