Great Lakes’s Gurgaon campus gets AMBA accreditation

The institute’s Chennai campus was the youngest campus in India to receive the AMBA, UK accreditation

Great Lakes Institute of Management’s Gurgaon campus has been accredited by the Association of MBAs (AMBA, UK) for its management programmes. The AMBA accreditation is awarded to the best programmes globally in postgraduate business education, said a press release from the institute.

Great Lakes, Gurgaon, now joins other top Indian institutions in India with this accreditation such as IIM Calcutta, IIM Lucknow, XLRI, MDI Gurgaon, SP Jain Mumbai and Great Lakes’ Chennai campus.

AMBA accredits MBA, DBA and master’s degree programmes at over 240 business schools in 70 countries. The AMBA accreditation establishes international standing for an institute and Great Lakes, Gurgaon achieved this in less than a decade, says the release. Great Lakes’ Chennai Campus had previously been the youngest campus in India to receive the AMBA accreditation.

AMBA follows a rigorous assessment criteria that ensures only the highest calibre programmes which demonstrate the best standards in teaching, curriculum, and student interaction receive the accreditation.

Debashis Sanyal, Director, Great Lakes, Gurgaon said, “It is a significant milestone for us. We are a new age institution for new age businesses and the AMBA accreditation makes our case stronger in establishing ourselves as a globally recognised B-school. We could achieve this through our outstanding faculty, focus on quality of education and innovating to cater for emerging business requirements in areas like internet businesses, analytics, AI and machine learning.”
