IBS hosts two-day conference on business intelligence

Fourth annual conference held on December 17 and 18

ICFAI Business School (IBS), in association with IcfaiTech, Hyderabad, jointly hosted the fourth annual international conference on business intelligence, analytics and knowledge Management (BIAKM 2015) on December 17 and 18. The aim of the conference was to create a platform for distinguished research scholars from renowned institutions to share their views on contemporary and emerging issues, where eminent industrialists and academicians exchanged their views on growing needs and uses of business analytics and knowledge management.

Arvind M Ankalikar, Senior Vice-President at L&T InfoTech shared his experience at the L&T group of companies in his keynote address. He stated that the future is all about services and not products. “The companies should always strive to come out with new and innovative solutions to address the growing expectations of customers” he added.

He further mentioned that data integration, data visualisation and artificial intelligence are the emerging areas of the future technology-driven industry. He also stressed that the spirit of innovation is immortal.

According to a statement by the institute, the two-day conference received an overwhelming response, with the presentation of 40 papers and the attendance of 40 delegates from India and abroad. Participating institutions included National University, San Diego, CA, Malardalen University & Lulea University of Technology, Sweden, IGATE Global Solutions Limited, Deloitte Consulting, and National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE), among others.

Prof J. Mahender Reddy, Vice-Chancellor of ICFAI University, in his presidential address, focused on the importance of growing research in the field of business information and analysis. He pointed out the importance of achieving the objective through internal workshops and faculty seminars at the institute.
