ICFAI University to hold panel discussion to commemorate 100 years of IEA

ICFAI University Chancellor Prof C Rangarajan to preside over the panel

ICFAI University, Hyderabad and the Indian Economic Association (IEA) are jointly organising a panel discussion on the ‘Quality of the Doctoral Programme in Economics and Business’, coinciding with the centenary celebrations of the IEA . The panel discussion will be held on April 20 at 11 a.m. at the ICFAI Campus on Sankerpally road in Hyderabad.

The panel discussion will focus on the direction of research and the choice of topic for a doctoral dissertations in economics and business, hypothesis formulation, research methodology, data and its quality, logic and reasoning in the writing of the thesis and policy implications of the findings. It will also review the current stage of doctoral research in business and economics, and suggestions for improvements going forward. The discussion will contribute towards the improvement of quality of the doctoral programs in the country.

The discussion will be presided over by Prof C Rangarajan, Chancellor of ICFAI University, former governor of RBI and the president of the centenary year of the IEA. The panelists are Prof KL Krishna (former Professor and Director of Delhi School of Economics and Chairman of Madras Institute of Development Studies), Prof. R Radha Krishna (Chairman, CESS Hyderabad), Prof. MR Rao (Former Director IIM-B and former DEAN, ISB, Hyderabad) and Prof. S Mahendra Dev (Director and Vice-Chancellor, IGIDR, Mumbai).

The panel discussion will be attended by the members of the IEA, faculty and research scholars from reputed institutions such as IGIDR, IIMs, IITs, IEG, Central and State Universities.
