ICOMBS to be held on Oct 30 and 31

This year’s theme revolves around ‘Analytics for Effective Marketing’

Continuing its tradition of hosting the sixth IBS Conference on Marketing & Business Strategy” (ICOMBS-2015), ICFAI Business School, Hyderabad is holding the same on October 30 and 31 at its campus.

ICOMBS was started in 2007 with the intention of creating a platform to share intellectual work in the area of marketing and business strategy. Based on a theme, the past ICOMBS attracted both academia and industry executives to share their research work and practice from all over the country.

And this year, the theme is ‘Analytics for Effective Marketing’, considering the increasing use of analytics by business organisations for effective decision making. This use has been spawned to a large degree by the deeper penetration of internet technology, increasing pervasiveness of social media, accessibility of Internet on mobile phones and development of apps for tech-savvy customers.

All these factors have led to a wealth of information about customers and markets, necessitating the creation and usage of tools for managing the information database. An entire industry is now engaged in helping clients and organisations that benefit from the critical insights hidden in the information bundles.

Who’ll be present

The address will be delivered by P Mohana Krishnan (director of NASSCOM), and the key note address will be delivered by Neehar Ranjan (CEO of Econurture Consulting), and Vivek Agarwal (Senior Vice-President- Dun and Bradstreet). Dr J Mahender Reddy (Vice-Chancellor, IFHE University) will delivering the presidential address.

On paper presentations, the conference committee coordinator Prof Shailendra Singh Bisht said, “We received close to 50 papers and abstracts from executives in industry as well as academia from different business schools, and the papers were subject to a double-blind review process, before being short-listed.
