IIM-B’s Prof Mukta Kulkarni notches up three prestigious recognitions

Wins two best paper awards at the Academy of Management Conference 2020, nominated for a third honour

Prof Mukta Kulkarni, faculty and Chair, Organisational Behaviour and Human Resources Management area, IIM Bangalore, has achieved three prestigious recognitions – for her co-authored work – in the Organization and Management Theory (OMT) and the Gender and Diversity in Organizations (GDO) Divisions at the Academy of Management (AOM) Conference 2020. These include the Best International Paper award, the Best Paper award (runner up), and the Saroj Parasuraman Award nomination.

 

 

The Best International Paper Award at OMT recognises research regarding themes and content of interest internationally. The Best Paper Award at OMT recognises an empirical or a conceptual paper submitted to the Academy of Management annual meeting that offers a significant contribution to the field of OMT. The Saroj Parasuraman Award is presented annually by the GDO Division to the individual or individuals who have published the best journal article in the field of diversity in the calendar year preceding the award.

Prof Kulkarni, who is also the Mphasis Chair for Digital Accessibility and Inclusion at IIM-B, works in the area of social inclusion. She has published papers in international journals, and is on the editorial boards of, and serves as an ad hoc reviewer for several international journals. Her research has been featured on radio shows and in the print media.

Her co-authored work has been recognised by the Academy of Management Journal (Best Paper award, 2007), Academy of Management (Carlo Masini award nomination, 2011), Personnel Review (Outstanding Paper, 2016), Human Relations (among the Top Papers, 2017), and Academy of Management (Saroj Parasuraman Award nomination, 2017).

She has served as a Member, Confederation of Indian Industry National Committee on Special Abilities, and is currently an Honorary Advisor for Enable India. She has also authored reports on assistive technologies for the national trust of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, and for the Office of the State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities in Karnataka.
