IIM Indore inks three-year pact with AstraZeneca

Focus of the collaboration is to promote joint research in new tech and contemporary management concepts.

IIM Indore has signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) with AstraZeneca Pharma India Ltd. The LoI was signed by Prof Himanshu Rai, Director, IIM Indore, and Gagandeep Singh, Country President, AstraZeneca Pharma India Ltd. Director Himanshu Rai said that the collaboration would focus on the joint use of research equipment and facilities for research in modern technology and management subjects such as Big Data Analytics, AI, communication, GIS, video analytics, knowledge and information management systems, and lean and agile techniques.

“We would also incorporate managerial aspects such as negotiation, service improvement, social media management, and authentic and inclusive leadership development,” he added. The collaboration is an umbrella of multiple projects with an objective to raise awareness about public health and health policies. A team led by Prof Himanshu Rai, consisting Prof Sneha Thapliyal and Prof Sayantan Banerjee, Faculty, IIM Indore, would be working on these projects for the LoI valid for three years.

Sharing his delight over collaboration with IIM Indore, Gagandeep Singh noted that IIM Indore is among the top B-Schools in India with a triple crown accreditation. “Apart from publishing research studies on mutually agreed topics, the collaboration also aims to review the existing identification, diagnostic and treatment regime in public health setup. We look forward to the recommendations from the IIM Indore team for further strengthening of the system.”
