IIM Indore joins hands with German agency

IIMI receives a research grant of ₹85.3 lakh; the collaboration includes two book projects, and research

IIM Indore has joined hands with The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ), German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), to understand pandemic preparedness for the future.With this objective, IIM Indore has also received a research grant of ₹85.3 Lakhs.

The institutions will now work together on documenting the challenges faced by different business sectors and their ways of tackling it. The documentation will be based on in-depth research and it will capture the finest solutions. The research activities include two book projects, research papers and detailed case studies.

Instrumental in policymaking

Expressing delight over the association, Prof Himanshu Rai, Director, IIM Indore, said, “The overall research project relies on a mixed-method approach, integrating qualitative and quantitative methods of data collection and analysis. The results of this research will be instrumental in cross-sectoral learning and pandemic preparedness and in shaping health policies for sectoral pandemic readiness within India.”

Dr Nishant Jain, Programme Director, Indo-German Social Security Programme said, “This partnership will develop insights that will be useful not only to policymakers but also to everybody. I am looking forward to some excellent knowledge products coming from this.”

The book projects will capture the challenges faced by the industrial sector and the actions taken while the research papers would include details of the employee experience in the industrial sector. The research would be based on interviews with management and government officials.
